PAEDIATRIC OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST – BERKSHIRE
Location: Berkshire Contract: Permanent Hours: Sociable working hours (no weekends or evenings after 6:30 pm)
Our client is seeking a dedicated Paediatric Occupational Therapist to provide specialist OT provision to pupils with autism. This role involves delivering high-quality assessment, intervention, and support within an educational setting, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure pupils achieve their full potential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Practice and Intervention
* Maintain responsibility for OT interventions, ensuring high standards of care. * Provide direct therapy to pupils as outlined in their EHCPs. * Deliver small group OT sessions and develop individualized and class-based intervention programs. * Embed OT strategies throughout the school environment. * Collaborate with a wider team of therapists and adhere to professional ethical standards.
Assessment and Equipment
* Conduct comprehensive assessments using appropriate tools. * Assess for specialist equipment, make recommendations, and ensure safe setup. * Train parents, carers, and staff in equipment use and monitor safety.
Training and Support
* Plan and deliver staff training sessions and parent information sessions. * Support the implementation of OT strategies across the school environment.
Professional Standards
* Maintain accurate clinical records, write detailed reports, and contribute to reviews. * Manage workload efficiently and participate in CPD activities. * Stay current with research, guidelines, and legislation relevant to practice.
Multi-Disciplinary Working
* Collaborate effectively with education staff, therapists, and other professionals. * Contribute to multi-disciplinary assessments and provide specialist advice.
