Job Title: Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (Adult Neuro)

Band: 6

Contract Type: One year fixed full-time (TBC) post, 37.5 hours per week, with the possibility to extend after one year (to be confirmed)

Accountable To: Specialist Rehabilitation Services Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our team. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care and support to adults with neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assess, diagnose, and manage speech, language, and communication disorders in adults with neurological conditions. * Develop and implement individualized treatment plans. * Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care. * Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers. * Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records. * Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.

Key Requirements:

* Qualifications: Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). * Experience: Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience, with significant experience in adult neuro rehabilitation. * Skills: Excellent communication, assessment, and therapeutic skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Knowledge: Strong understanding of neurological conditions and their impact on communication and swallowing. * Attributes: Compassionate, patient-centered approach, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
