Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Engineer to support the development, validation, and performance optimization of diesel engine aftertreatment systems. This individual will play a key role in testing, analyzing, troubleshooting, and improving emissions control technologies including SCR, DPF, DOC, and DEF/urea systems.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge of diesel emissions and aftertreatment systems with hands-on experience in testing, validation, data analysis, and root cause investigation. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, and testing organizations to ensure system performance and compliance requirements are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

* Support development and validation of diesel engine aftertreatment systems and emissions control technologies. * Evaluate performance of SCR, DPF, DOC, DEF, and related emissions reduction systems. * Conduct testing and validation activities on engines, vehicles, and laboratory test setups. * Analyze test data and identify performance issues, trends, and optimization opportunities. * Perform root cause analysis and lead troubleshooting efforts related to emissions system performance. * Investigate failures and develop corrective actions through structured problem-solving methodologies. * Work with calibration, controls, validation, and product engineering teams to improve system performance. * Collect and analyze signals from vehicle and engine testing activities. * Support emissions compliance and performance verification initiatives. * Interface with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues and drive improvements. * Prepare technical reports and communicate findings to engineering and leadership teams.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field. * 3+ years of experience in diesel engines, emissions systems, aftertreatment systems, or powertrain validation. * Experience with one or more of the following: * SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) * DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) * DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst) * DEF/Urea systems * Diesel emissions systems * Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills. * Experience analyzing engineering test data and developing technical recommendations. * Familiarity with testing and validation processes. * Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with calibration tools such as ETAS INCA or CANape. * Experience with CAN-based tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, Vehicle Spy, or similar. * Diesel engine performance, combustion, or aftertreatment development experience. * Experience supporting engine, vehicle, or emissions testing programs. * Knowledge of catalyst technologies, coatings, substrates, chemical reactions, or emissions reduction strategies. * Experience working with suppliers and external testing partners. * Background in emissions compliance, certification, or regulatory validation.

Salary Range: $75,000-78,000

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
